Join us on Wednesday the 13th of October 2027 at Logie Country House, Aberdeenshire, for a wedding: a ceremony at three, drinks in the garden (weather permitting — this is Scotland, so permission is not guaranteed), dinner in the converted stables, and dancing until they turn the lights out on us.

  • The party assembles for the main discovery. Vows will be exchanged, rings will be produced from carefully guarded luggage, and the resident hounds — our four-legged fellows of the expedition — will almost certainly upstage everyone. They have been promoted to co-officiants in all but name.

  • Every good story opens with something small and promising. Canapés will circulate on the lawn, weather permitting — and in the main house when the weather does what Scottish weather does, which is whatever it likes. Consider this the prologue.

  • Dinner is served in the ballroom — which, in a former life, was the stables. A hog roast awaits, in the grand tradition of expeditions that end well: everyone gathered, nobody lost, treasure on the table.

  • The first dance — and, in all likelihood, the last, as one of us will start a conversation and the other will locate a book. Witness it while you can. Photographs are encouraged; this may not be repeated in the wild.

  • Every adventure closes its book eventually. Last dances at midnight, last drinks shortly after, and then out into the night with you — well fed, well loved, and part of the story now. Thank you for coming along.
